Frequently Asked Questions¶
Is SparkNavi Blue a Taiwan-made flight controller?¶
Yes. SparkNavi Blue is designed and manufactured by Xiang Cheng Electronic Co., Ltd., based in Taiwan. All R&D, PCB fabrication, SMT assembly, and quality assurance are completed in Taiwan. SparkNavi is committed to bringing high-quality Taiwan-made flight control solutions to the global market.
Is SparkNavi NDAA-compliant?¶
Yes. SparkNavi follows a globally sourced supply chain strategy and is aligned with US NDAA Section 889 requirements. We do not use components from companies named on restricted vendor lists. Our authorized distribution partners include Macnica, Future Electronics, and Avnet — making SparkNavi suitable for defense, government, and critical infrastructure customers requiring trusted supply chain.
Does SparkNavi Blue support ArduPilot open-source firmware?¶
Yes — officially merged into the ArduPilot mainline. The board name is "SparkNavi Blue" with APJ Board ID 1362. Users can download the latest firmware directly from ArduPilot's official website. Full support for Copter, Plane, Rover, and Sub vehicle types.
How does SparkNavi Blue compare to Pixhawk?¶
SparkNavi Blue uses the Pixhawk-standard STM32H743 MCU (480 MHz) architecture with dual IMU (ICM42652 + ICM42688), CAN FD, and dual GPS. Compared to generic Pixhawk-class boards, SparkNavi Blue offers:
- Taiwan design and manufacturing with controllable quality and long-term availability
- NDAA-compliant supply chain
- FCC / CE / PSE international certification for North America, Europe, and Japan
- Direct engineering support in English, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese
It is a drop-in replacement for Pixhawk-class boards in NDAA-sensitive applications.
What are typical applications?¶
SparkNavi Blue is widely used in industrial UAV platforms, VTOL aircraft, multirotor systems, autonomous robotics, R&D platforms, and defense UAV systems. Our customers include defense agencies, research institutions, and industrial integrators in Japan, Poland, the United States, and Taiwan.
Are SparkNavi products ITAR-controlled?¶
SparkNavi products are not ITAR-controlled. However, certain inertial sensing technologies may be considered dual-use under international export control regulations. Customers remain responsible for compliance with their local export rules.
